Dear Colleagues:

Over the past six years, UA faculty and staff have donated more than $2.5 million dollars through UA Cares. Our gifts have benefited substantial, far-reaching programs and projects here at the University, support that has been of immeasurable importance in the institution's ongoing quest for excellence. UA employees have also generously supported non-profit agencies in Tucson and Southern Arizona, helping to assure an economically strong, safe, healthy community for all of our fellow citizens. By doing so we give hope to thousands of individuals who have been victims of abuse, who cannot afford hot meals, who are single parents determined to make it on their own, or children who have no place to go after school. And, we also support members of our own University family who benefit from assistance provided by internal and external programs.

This October marks the beginning of the seventh year of UA Cares, and UA employees are invited to once again support UA services and programs through The University of Arizona Foundation, and local non-profit agencies and Community Impact Areas through the United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona.

Last year UA employees contributed $439,934 through UA Cares. Your support contributed significantly to the health and vibrancy of our University and local community. We are writing to ask that you continue your thoughtfulness and make this year's appeal the most successful ever.
